With just one click, you can now easily compare the results of searches in different English corpora -- COCA, COHA, TIME, BNC. This will allow you to compare contemporary and historical English, for example, or American and British English. You can also compare the results in several different BYU Google Books databases: American English (155 billion words), British (34 billion), One Million Books (89 billion), and Fiction (90 billion words).

Remember that the part of speech codes are slightly different in COCA / COHA / TIME vs BNC (e.g. [j*] for adjectives in COCA / COCA / TIME, but [aj*] in the BNC). The following PoS codes are automatically changed when switching between the BNC and the other corpora. For all other changes, you'll need to do them manually.
