The preferred method of payment is CashNET (the fastest and the preferred method). If the purchase is for $600 or more, you can also pay by wire transfer to BYU.

1. CashNET (HigherOne) is a secure site, which is used to process payments for BYU and many other universities in the United States. BYU strongly prefers that payments be made via CashNET. Payments made via CashNET take effect within just a few seconds, and your students will have expanded access almost immediately.

2. Wire transfer (for payments of $600 or more). If you are interested in this option, please email us so that we can send you the bank name, routing number, etc.

There is an additional $70 charge for using a wire transfer. So if this were a one-year license for an unlimited number of  students, it would be $600 (normal price) + $70 (additional charge) = $670. Most of this is to pay back what the bank charges for a wire transfer (which is often $40-50, especially for international transfers), and the other part is for the extra time and effort to coordinate and check up on the wire transfer.

Whereas payment by CashNET is essentially instantaneous (1-2 minutes at most), payment by wire transfer can take several days. The transfer itself usually takes 1-2 business days, and it takes BYU 1-2 business days to contact us to let us know that the wire transfer has arrived. So it is conceivable that the payment will not be recorded (and the academic license will not become active for corpus users) until 5-7 business days after you make the payment.
